Debbie,

You are right in your statement that it is much harder to find free loom knitting patterns than it is to find regular knitting patterns. Loom knitting is just not as popular, so there are fewer pattern designers out there. However, a search for "loom knitting" on Amazon.com will reveal several pattern books. If you're on a tight budget, try checking them out from your local library.

Jackie,

Thanks for your kind words. I've updated the links in the article and we plan on adding more knitting loom topics in upcoming months. Don't forget to check out our article on Knifty Knitter Patterns.

Very nice article, would be especially good for beginners. But you need to update your links, some of them work, but several are not there anymore or have changed their names. Always like to read someone else's take on loom knitting too.

Lorraine,

I'm sorry our article didn't provide the information you were looking for. If you know who made your knitting loom, try a quick search on the manufacturer's Web site. Most companies have detailed instructions as well as several sample projects to help you get started.

Carol,

I just checked all of our links and they appear to be working for me. You may be having some sort of technical issue with your computer.

As for the cost-effectiveness of making your own socks, I suspect it would probably be cheaper to simply buy your own socks from a local department store. However, you may be able to keep the cost of handmade socks down by looking for sales and coupons at Hobby Lobby and other large craft stores.

I have been looking into loom knitting. I have previously been able to do many crafts but am aging and want to make comfy wool sock. I thought that loom knitting would be the way. I am trying to decide if this is smart but not extremely expensive for me to make myself socks. I can't seem to access your links. which troubles me since yours is the first that seems to have info. and not just "hawking". If there is something I need to do to make your links work please let me know. thanks, carol
