Knew knitter,

I've also found that the type of yarn you use on the Knifty Knitter seems to affect how well the project turns out. Thick or slightly bulky yarn usually gives me the best results. If your yarn is really fine and thin, you may need to wrap it around the pegs two or three times before you make each row of stitches. I'd try knitting a bit on one of the smaller looms to test what works best before you spend too much time on the project.

Good luck!

The first project i made was a hat for my son. I used a really nice bernat yarn. I am trying to make a shawl with some left over really crappy yarn and i'm having so much trouble. Does the type of yarn i use effect how my stitching is? (tight vs. loose)

Found a book,

I actually have that book at home too! I haven't tried many of the projects in it, but it does have some good ideas.

Loom Crafts with Knifty Knitter(walmart) very helpful as the instruction in the book leave a lot to be desired. There are some videos on web site but none for long loom. Like it need more resourses.

Diane,

For me, the easiest way to knit a scarf on the Knifty Knitter has been to follow the instructions for making a hat, then simply extend the part that would go on your head to the correct scarf length. This makes a thick, really warm scarf that's very sturdy. If you use the flat knitting technique, sometimes your scarf seems to curl up from the sides when you're wearing it.

I am looking for a scarf pattern that uses the red knifty knitter. Does anyone have one out there?

Angie,

Sadly, it does seem to be very difficult to find loom knitting patterns online. I've spent many hours searching for patterns and never been able to find a penguin. (My husband is a huge fan of penguins as well!)

If you post your question on the LTK Crafts forum, perhaps one of our readers can help.

I'm looking for a pattern for a penguin -- nothing fancy, just a simple penguin -- done on the knitting looms. Does anyone know where I can find a penguin pattern?

Patty, Wanda, and Honey,

I've been having trouble finding patterns for the Knifty Knitter myself, but you may have better luck if you post your request in our new LTK Crafts forum. We have a section devoted to knitting.

Kristen,

I love the Knifty Knitter! I'm left handed and kind of clumsy, so I never could get the hang of knitting with needles. But, the Knifty Knitter is easy to use even when you're watching TV.

We have more Knifty Knitter articles scheduled for upcoming months, so remember to visit LTK Crafts often.
