Hi, I haven't made my quilt yet but I've been reading that you especially should NOT wash the fabric before making a scrappy quilt. Doesn't washing it beforehand minimise the fraying effect at the end?

Maybe I misunderstood your directions, but I believe the correct way to finish the quilt would be to place the back of the quilt face up, the top of the quilt face down, then the batting or muslin. The right sides of the quilt need to be together when sewn so they will be on the outside when turned and finished.
