Em,
I'm not sure what it's made out of, but Target has a plain JanSport backpack that you could try decorating.

-- Contributed by: DanahindersI can't seem to find a decent plain (white) backpack. I've searched everywhere. All I want is a simple school backpack that I can fit a couple of large folders in. I didn't think it would be that hard, but it is. They're all pre-designed, or branded, or different colours. Any help?

Any type of paint labeled as fabric paint should work for this project. Go to http://www.pieandcoffee.org/2005/11/12/canvas-bag for instructions on how to make your own canvas bag.

-- Contributed by: ********Jacey,
If you let the paint dry thoroughly before completely the transfer, I believe it should work.

-- Contributed by: DanahindersI was wondering, is it possible to paint a canvas bag, and then use an iron-on transfer over the paint? You see, I have an old canvas bag which bears a huge company logo and phone number on the front. I know that transfers are transparent, so I can't just put them on over the logo, because it will show through, so I came up with the idea of painting it. I was wondering, though, if the paint will somehow cancel the effects of the transfer, or if the iron could possibly even melt the paint. my email is starlitewishes11@gmail.com if you could email me answering this question, that would be great, since I most likely won't be back on this page anytime soon and therefore won't see any responses made. Thanks in advance! ~Jacey
