Sticker Note Cards
From LoveToKnow Crafts
Here’s a really simple, quick and cheap way to make your own note cards for any occasion.
I have a bit of an obsession with quick and cheap crafts, and I love getting craft supplies on sale, even if I don’t exactly know what I am going to do with them.
This craft was inspired by some of my craft store sale shopping. I don’t remember if I bought these things at the same time or not, but when I was cleaning out my office one day they ended up together and a new quick, easy, cheap craft was born.
Supplies
- One set of small greeting cards with envelopes. The package I had was a set of 12 cards and 12 envelopes about the size of thank you notes. They are made with acid free paper and retailed at my local craft superstore for $2.49. I probably bought them when they were half price.
- One sheet of vellum stickers. My project was done with Cathy B. photo safe embossed and glittered vellum stickers. The package theme was “bugs.” It included about two dozen stickers of various shapes and sizes. Retail price was $2.27; again, I probably got these for half price.
Instructions
- Select a sticker you like and an orientation for the sticker on the card. Remember you can make these cards open from the right side or from the bottom depending on the way you lay out the stickers.
- Carefully peel the sticker off the backing and place firmly on the card where you would like it to go.
- Repeat with more stickers if you like.
Hints and tips
- The sticker pack I described above is probably enough stickers to decorate eight note cards. I decorated six and had three large stickers left over.
- If you don’t use all the stickers on the cards themselves, don’t forget that you can also decorate the envelopes. Smaller stickers make a plain whit envelope more interesting and give the recipient an idea that they’re about to open a very special card.
- You could also use stickers to decorate the inside of the card.
- You can always mix and match stickers from different packs to make them go even farther.
- If you like, you can leave room on the front of the card to write a message or stamp something with a rubber stamp. The ladybug card pictured here is a great example of a card that is cute on its own but could benefit from some rubber stamping or extra embellishment.
Ways to use the cards
- Note cards
- Birthday cards
- Thank you notes
- Invitations to a child’s birthday party or other festive get-together
- Thinking of you cards
- Whatever other occasions you might need a little, quick note card for
More information
Making six note cards using this method took me about 10 minutes and probably cost me less than $3.00. Even if I bought these items at full price, this project would cost less than $5.00 and give you six or more really cute note cards that you can use for any occasion.
There are all sorts of cute stickers on the market these days, so you could take this basic idea to make cheap, quick, adorable note cards for any occasion. You could even make up a bunch and give the cards themselves as gifts. Your friends will never know they only took you a few minutes and cost you a few dollars.
