Review: "Learn To Crochet A Cool Or Hip Cap" crochet kit

I bought this kit with the aim of using it to teach kids to crochet (I'm a crochet instructor). I was terribly disappointed. From the box, it looked really cool and great for kids. It contains everything you need to crochet a cute cloche hat with embroidered flowers: yarn, crochet hook and instructions.
Too bad the instructions were terrible. They were not clear and didn't conform to the standard for crochet instructions. Also the hook was of very poor quality. It was a cheap plastic and had a seam that kept catching on the yarn and it made me just throw the whole thing out.
I would recommend people who want to learn crochet to buy a better quality hook, instruction book and yarn seperately rather than buy this kit.
