Using Glaze in Faux Painting

Faux painting, also called faux finishing, is the process of using preparation and painting techniques to create a finish that appears to have a unique texture. Faux painting can be used to decorate chairs, coffee tables, shelves, storage chests, and other furniture or home décor items.

Glaze is a common supply for many faux painting techniques. In painting, the term glaze refers to paint that is somewhat transparent and can be used to change the color or texture of a surface.

Help! I'm in the middle of faux finishing my bathroom and I'm out of Blue Bell Glaze Vernis. No stores sell it here anymore. I"ve been to 7 of them! Where else Can I get it?

I e-mailed all over and the only responses I have gotten about Plaid Glaze is that it has been discontinued. I want to keep stamping and have all the decorator blocks. Is it truly discontinued? Is there any stock anywhere that I can buy? What can I substitute for it? I have tried folkart paint and it does not work? Can I combine the paint with anything to make it translucent? Thanks , very disappointed, Halley
