Free Scrapbooking Stuff
From LoveToKnow Scrapbooking
There’s nothing better that getting information, ideas and design help for free. Whether you’re new to a craft or just looking for new ideas, it’s great to be able to try new things and learn techniques without having to pay for it.
One of the best crafts for finding free stuff online is scrapbooking. With the advent of digital scrapbooking and the popularity of this craft as a whole, there are tons of places online you can visit to learn about scrapbooking, get ideas for your pages and find free scrapbooking stuff.
Free Scrapbooking Education
If you’re completely new to scrapbooking, you might be a little intimidated by the whole process. Cutting up pictures and arranging them in a pretty permanent way on a page can be a little scary until you’ve had some practice.
The good news is, there are many websites that can help you get over the fear and learn to scrapbook even if you are a complete beginner. Learn 2 Scrapbook, for instance, is a site devoted to beginning scrapbookers.
These pages cover common mistakes beginners make (like buying too many supplies right away) and explain the basics of designing a page, using archival-quality materials and choosing an album to display your pages.
It is the sister site of Scrapbooking.com, which is a great place to continue your free scrapbooking education. Here you will find beautiful project ideas, technique descriptions and ideas for digital and paper scrapbooks. They also have a directory of online stores, so when you find you have to buy supplies, the right place to shop will be at your fingertips.
Free Scrapbooking Designs
For a treasure trove of ideas, the websites connected to major craft stores and television stations can’t be beat. For example:
- A.C. Moore has some great projects that will move you beyond the traditional scrapbook (though there are regular page designs, too). From picture frames to game boxes, framed pages to handmade journals, these designs will take your scrapbooking to the next level.
- Michaels offers more than 400 design ideas in its gallery. Most of these projects are quite easy and will spark ideas for pages, journals and books that you can create without much time and effort.
- Joann has more than 50 projects on its site, mostly involving weddings and seasonal events. These projects range from pages to notecards, gift tags to calendars, and they are sure to inspire you to use what you have to create similar projects.
- HGTV has a great scrapbooking page with basic information on the craft and projects divided by skill level. Start out with something easy and move on to more challenging designs as your skill level improves.
