Free Halloween Craft Patterns
From LoveToKnow Crafts
If you're looking for free Halloween craft patterns, there are tons of resources available on the Internet and at your local library. Here are a few of my favorite sources for free Halloween craft patterns.
Free Costume Patterns
The most important part of Halloween is the costumes, and there are many places you can find ideas and free Halloween craft patterns for costumes.
The Halloween Costume Closet has cute ideas for kids costumes, decorations and more. From the classics like witches and ghosts to more unique ideas like an alarm clock and a slimy creature from the deep, these patterns will give you lots of easy ideas for Halloween costumes. You can also sign up for an e-mail newsletter providing costume ideas.
HGTV has a good collection of cute and easy Halloween costumes for kids and adults. A magician, a skeleton, a duck and a bird are just some of the ideas presented here. And a few costumes especially for toddlers can be found here.
Costume Idea Zone is probably my favorite site for coming up with ideas for costumes. While there aren't actual patterns included with these ideas, most of the ideas are explained well enough that you can recreate them easily. The great thing about this site is that it has ideas for couples, groups, and individuals, traditional, unique and lazy costumes. If you've got an idea that went over really well at your last Halloween party, you can also contribute your own ideas.
Finally, the Costume Page has a good selection of costumes you can make yourself, from a bug catcher to a ballerina, a gothic chic to a big baby.
Other Free Halloween Craft Patterns
Having a great costume only gets you so far. If you're planning a party or just want your house to look festive, you'll need some more free Halloween craft patterns. Here are a bunch to get you started:
- Halloween Craft Freebies has ideas for carving pumpkins, making crafts with witches, pumpkins, and ghosts, coloring pages, ideas for costumes for all ages (including babies) and much more.
- Tall Mouse has a great selection of free Halloween craft patterns that would be great for decorating for a party, from a ghoulish wreath to ghosts made of cheesecloth and witches made of ribbon.
- 101 Halloween Ideas isn't all about crafts, but it does have some fun ideas for making your holiday a little scarier, from decorating with pumpkins to serving ice shaped like severed hands.
- Some other holidays are thrown in, too, but this page from Joann.com offers a bunch of great projects for Halloween, including wall hangings, trick or treat bags and a festive bowl.
- Enchanted Learning has a bunch of free Halloween craft patterns that are well-suited to younger kids, including spiders, skeletons and more.
Halloween Party Planning
Yu can craft you own Halloween party with some of the free Halloween craft patterns listed above, as well as the advice of sites like 101 Halloween Ideas. If that's not enough for you, here are some more resources that can help you turn your home from pretty to scary.
The most important thing when planning a Halloween party is to give it a consistent feel. Everything from the invitations to the outside of the house, indoor decorations and party food can work together to make the evening creepy. Check out Dark Side of the Net for a list of links to all sorts of cool Halloween food.
Also, check out the Halloween Cavern of Clip Art to find printables, icons to decorate your invitations and more. Happy haunting!
