Decorative Fall Printable Paper Craft Ideas

Get in the mood for fall by helping your kids make colorful decorations for your home!

Leaf Decorating

Toddlers will enjoy this fall craft project. You will need to print a leaf outline on white paper. Gather fun items, such as cotton balls, beads, pipe cleaners, and anything else you can find rolling around in your craft bins. Your child can use school glue to attach these items within the leaf’s outline. Smaller kids will enjoy the chance to use glue and have fun, while older children can make more intricate designs with the craft items you offer.

Fall Picture Collage

Use printable scrapbook paper designs to make a collage you can enjoy in future years. Choose a theme, such as nature or one of the fall holidays.

Over the course of the fall, take pictures related to the theme you selected. For example, you could choose a Thanksgiving paper and then take candid shots during your Thanksgiving Day celebration. Select the best of these photos to use and get 4x6 prints. Then you will need to print the selected scrapbook printable. Crop the pictures and attach them, using photo adhesives, to the printable. Frame them to bring out next fall for a seasonal display.

Writing Fall Paper Crafts

Help your kids practice their writing skills with fun paper craft projects.

Writing Prompts

Fall scene printable sheets are an easy way to help beef up your child’s writing skills. Consider the printable a prompt for a writing story. A picture of a mom and son selecting pumpkins or a dad and son raking leaves can be a wonderful start to a story your child creates.

Print the scene about half the size of an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper. You can use a basic photo management tool to make it smaller or manipulate the print settings in your word processing program. Your child should color the fall printable paper craft and then cut it out and paste it onto a full-sized piece of cardstock. Ask your child what he thinks the scene represents and have him write a paragraph about the scene. This type of craft hones fine motor skills as well as the imagination.

Fall Journal

Add to your child’s writing curriculum by creating a fall journal. Print out fall friends on plain printer paper. Have your child color and cut out each of these figures. Then you will need to make a basic journal page. Print these pages on cardstock and then paste the fall friends onto the cardstock next to the lines. For very small children, you also may want to print leaves or other cutouts and put them on the pages.

Have your child choose a cover from various coloring sheets or printouts. This cover piece will go onto a piece of cardstock as well. Once you have all of the journal pages and the cover completed, stack the cardstock pieces together. Use a hole puncher to punch holes in the pieces of cardstock. A single- or three-hole punch should work fine. Use yarn to tie knots in each of the holes, creating a journal. Your child can use this journal to record experiences about the fall and keep it as a memory book.

A fall printable paper craft can be as complicated as the creation of an elaborate scene, or it can be as simple as a coloring sheet you work on with your child. The purpose of these project ideas is to give you time to enjoy the season and its natural beauty.

Daisy,

To the best of my knowledge, there are no companies that make paper punches based on the astrological signs. Even scrapbook supplies such as stickers and paper are hard to find in this theme, unless you're lucky enough to score a deal on discontinued merchandise via eBay. My best suggestions for you would be to find a good piece of clip art, then punch it out from your paper using a large circle or square punch.
