Bikini Choices

Many crochet bikinis are based on a circular pattern, which can be found in both the soutien-gorge and culotte designs. However, triangles are another obvious favorite. The spider is one of the most popular designs and is comprised of three or six strings, which support a central covering over the front of the breast. As you begin searching for a bikini pattern, decide on how much coverage you prefer.

Tips and Advice

A crochet bikini is stylish and comfy if you choose good yarn or thread. However, you need to plan on adjusting the pattern to fit your body. Since bikinis should fit snugly, you’ll need to continuously check the size and shape of your swimsuit by modeling it after your bra and panties or another bikini.

You’ll want to make sure the bottom of the bikini is actually a little smaller, about an inch, than your panties. Don’t just assume that the pattern will fit you perfectly. You’ll probably have to adjust something as you crochet. The tighter the weave, the more secure you’ll feel.
