Recipes For a Sweet Life

I have been an avid scrapbooker for about seven years, and a crafter for as long as I can remember. Whenever possible I enjoy having the two worlds colide, and when I found this wooden recipe box at my local craft store I couldn't resist the temptation to turn it into a "Recipe Scrapbook."
For the pages inside I am using my random leftover pictures that don't quite fit anywhere else, for an eclectic collection of our life in a box :)

Supplies
- Decoupage Medium or a Xyron Machine with Permanent Adhesive ( I have used both; Decoupage if I am patient, and the Xyron when I am impatient)
- Patterned papers of your choice, for this box I used Basic Grey
- Card Stock and additional papers for the mini pages inside
- Your choice of embellishments and Stickers or Rub-Ons
- Glue dots or adhesive for your embellishments
- Distress Inks of your choice (I used Ranger tattered rose)
- Emory Board or Sandpaper

Creating your Album
- Carefully measure the outsides of your box and decoupage the paper on to the box one side at a time following the manufacturers instructions. Do one side at a time.
- After completing one side use your sandpaper or emory board to file off any excess paper around the edge, this corrects any mistakes when placing and also prevents lifting of the paper at a later date.
- Repeat the above steps until your box is totally covered, once covered use your distress inks around the edges to blend the paper and visible wood together.
- Once you have inked it to your liking go to town adding any additional paper, embellishments or stickers to the outside of the box. I added one of my favorite pictures of my girls to the top of the box securing with glued dots and photo turns.

Creating the Inside Pages
- Using your measurements from the outside of the box, cut cardstock into cards that will fit inside. My cards measure 4x6, but this will vary depending on your box and its measurements.
