I’m planning on taking my son to see the movie this week—he loves “Where the Wild Things Are”! I also came across this link for a bunch of really cool craft projects. Some you can make with kids, some are just for kids to enjoy when you’re done. My favorite ones are the puppets and the cupcakes!

Oooh!  Neat!  I love the “Where the Wild Things Are” Christmas ornament too.

What a great idea!  You can use the puppets to reenact the story after you get home.  Sounds like so much fun!

Dana,
did you and your son like the movie? I’ve heard that it might bother younger children.

My son isn’t really into the book and didn’t want to see the movie, but I love the idea of incorporating crafts into a movie. Whenever we see a movie, I like to find books that go along with it and or watch other videos that make it more than just something we watch for a few hours. I love the idea of doing crafts that make the movie more of an “event.”

Hi Dana - Have a great time with your son at the movies - From the coming attractions on the tv it looks like it is going to be a really fun movie.
The crafts should also be fun to make!
Hi Kate - I also think the ornament is absolutely adorable!

Holly,

My whole family actually enjoyed the movie—although we all love the book and my son isn’t easily scared by what he sees on a screen. (If your kiddo has any issues with monsters at all, you might want to avoid this one. There were quite a few kids in the 6 and under bracket who didn’t look too happy at the theater.)
