My son’s kindergarten class is celebrating All Saints Day next week and they are all supposed to dress up like their favorite saint. He doesn’t really have a favorite, so I’m planning to do something pretty general. Any suggestions? If I had enough time and was crafty, I’d try to make a costume, but at this point I’ll be happy to just put something appropriate together.

I know absolutely nothing about the saints, but this website sells some cute saints costumes for kids.  I wonder if you could use one of these costumes for inspiration but get items from a thrift shop to put it together.  You might actually be able to make the St. Dominic one out of a man’s shirt.

Hi Holly I think this may link may also be of help.

costume ideas.

According to what I read many kids saints costumes can be a black tee shirt with a white turtleneck (or collared shirt) underneath.

Hi Kate - I tried the link and it is not working - it goes to a “page not found”.

I’m disappointed in myself, but I couldn’t put too much time into with such a short amount of time. I just went to a craft store, but the largest adult t-shirt I could find (it was X-large and my son is a small 5 year old so it fit him like a dress), then I bought some gold and white ribbon, the type you’d put on a Christmas tree and I made a belt out of it by attaching velcro strips to the ribbon.

He picked St. Luke, who is supposed to be the saint of medicine and painting, so he just carried a paintbrush with him. Simple and boring, but it’s not like it was a big play or anything.

Hey, there’s no time in craft shortcuts, especially when you’re a mom!  Good job coming up with something; it sound resourceful.  smile

I fixed the link in my previous post.
