Who wants to make me a purse?

My skills aren’t up to actually doing this, but I LOVE this awesome purse pattern on Craftster. And, with as much soda as I drink, I could come up with the tabs in a week or two!

I love that the woman who created this pattern based it on the expensive purse she saw on another web site. Crafty and resourceful people are awesome!

Hi Dana - I wish I could make it for you…but I am afraid I am seriously knitting and crocheting challenged LOL

The purse is really nice and basing the design on the expensive purse really shows a truly crafty crafter! Did you look on the website of the expensive purse - there are dozens of different kinds of purses!

Wow - if I could crochet, I would totally try to make that!  As it is, I have the pop-drinking part down.  I can contribute pop tops and lots of enthusiasm!

Has anyone heard of any other crafts with pop tops?

Hi Kate - There are quite a few different crafts that use pop tops. I have seen belts, wallets and bracelets. I am pretty sure there are more also.

Here is a link to one kind of bracelet

Terry—I like the bracelet! I could definitely make that. And, I bet you could do a matching belt just by making it a bit bigger. (Or a lot bigger, depending upon how much non diet pop you’ve been drinking, I guess.)

Hi Dana - The bracelet is really nice. I think you are right about making a matching belt. I was thinking it could also be turned into a necklace just by making it a little longer. Do you think you are going to try the bracelet?

Haven’t got around to making that bracelet yet, but I recently saw a boutique with cosmetic bags, pencil cases, headbands, and shopping totes made from crochet and pop tabs. They were really cool, very expensive, and selling like hotcakes. If you know anyone who crochets, this would probably be a great business niche!
